The 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou on April 15, attracting many Changzhou enterprises to take part. On April 17, Vice Mayor Huan Heng, led a delegation to visit the Changzhou enterprises there.
At this year's Canton Fair, a total of 308 exhibitors from Changzhou set up 552 booths, including 64 first-time exhibitors. The number of booths and enterprises hit a record high. The Changzhou enterprises covered many traditional strong sectors in foreign trade, such as new energy, power equipment, engineering and agricultural machinery, household appliances, hardware and tools, building materials, household goods, pet supplies, home textiles, garments, medical care, and sports and leisure.
Huan Heng visited the booths of Changchai Co., Ltd., Youao Electrical Appliances and Lodgi Floor, where he learned about their products and technologies. He also listened to the suggestions of exhibitors, asking if they had encountered any difficulties. And at the end, he encouraged enterprises to further increase R&D input, and occupy more market shares through innovation in technologies and products.
In face of the complex and changing international trade environment, the Changzhou government has encouraged enterprises to seize opportunities, enhance brand development, and promote technological reform and innovation. Through expanding market shares and obtaining more orders, the enterprises have contributed to the high-quality growth of an open economy in Changzhou.
