On December 4th, it was learned from Wujin Cultural Center that Changzhou pyrography, shallow-carved mahogany and Yangqiao Fair have been selected into the fourth batch of recommended items to be put into Jiangsu Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and have been approved after publicity.

Changzhou pyrography and mahogany carving belong to traditional art, while Yangqiao Fair is part of folk custom.

Changzhou pyrography was originated from traditional decorative combs, which developed into large pyrography works. Shallow-carved mahogany was developed from bamboo carving in the late Ming Dynasty, which began to involve a variety of carving tools and techniques in the Qing Dynasty due to the difference between raw materials. Yangqiao Fair is an integrated folk activity including greeting gods, entertaining people, burning incense sticks and fair trade initiated in the Song Dynasty and boomed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, having over 900 years of history.
