Changzhou’s GDP in the first three quarters of this year reached 618.76 billion yuan, representing an increase of 10.9 percent year-on-year, Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics reported on October 25.
The city’s GDP growth surpassed Jiangsu province's economic growth by 0.7 percentage points in the first nine months.
From January to September, the value-added of the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors reached 8.7 billion, 293.93 billion, and 316.13 billion yuan, surging 1.2 percent, 12.8 percent, and 9.5 percent from a year earlier, respectively.
In addition, foreign trade volume totaled 220.63 billion yuan in the first three quarters, increasing by 27 percent year-on-year. General budget revenue reached 52.73 billion yuan, up 15 percent, ranking first in south Jiangsu.
