On July 21, the opening ceremony of 2020 Xinzha Lotus Festival was held at the Lotus Park in Xinzha district, Changhzou.

The park boasts nearly 400 types of lotus flowers, all in full bloom every July and August. This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Xinzha Lotus Festival since its first edition in July 2008. Over the years, the festival has become a popular cultural phenomenon of Xinzha.

This year’s lotus festival, with the purpose of generating public benefits from culture, contains a series of activities including virtual tours of the park, live stream shopping, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) carnivals, Chinese opera performances, traditional Chinese costume shows, photography, calligraphy and painting contests, and food festivals.
