Xu Xihan from Jintan claims gold medal in Rio Paralympic Games

Rio time September 10th, it was learned from Rio Paralympic Games that Xu Xihan from Jintan, Changzhou, Jiangsu claimed the gold medal in the women's 50m Paralympic butterfly S5 in 43.62 seconds. This is also Jiangsu’s first gold medal in swimming program at Rio Paralympics.

Xu Xihan was born in April 2000. She was disabled at 13 months old in a car accident. She started to learn swimming for physical rehabilitation at the age of 12. In April 2013, she was successfully recruited into the Jiangsu Para-Swimming Team. This time in Rio, she also broke the Asian record of the women's 50m butterfly S5 and won the 10th Paralympic gold medal for Changzhou.
