As a significant participant of the Sino-Soviet cultural exchange, the Little Birch Dance Troupe has been a classic symbol of Russian dance to the Chinese audience ever since the sensation of its premier show in China in 1955. In 2004, Little Birch was awarded the Russian president fund of culture. In 2006, it became an art troupe led directly by Russian president’s office and appeared frequently on the stage of important international events as a special envoy of cultural exchange to show the charm and elegance of Russia.
