Changzhou reports stable social order over May Day holiday

Changzhou experienced a peaceful and secure May Day holiday, with reported incidents of illegal activities decreasing by 7.6 percent compared to last year, as noted by the 110 emergency police hotline.

During the holiday, the city's nine major expressways saw a total flow of 4.183 million vehicles, marking a 10.9 percent increase from the previous year. At its peak, daily traffic approached nearly 1 million vehicles, setting a new record.With over 2,000 traffic officers deployed daily and careful traffic monitoring, travel remained smooth during peak times.

Tourism thrived during the holiday, with popular attractions like China Dinosaur Park and Nanshan Bamboo Sea welcoming around 2.6 million visitors and 863,000 vehicles, up by 17.7 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.

Local public security authorities promptly responded to emergency calls through the 110 hotline, addressing 194 incidents in tourist areas and commercial districts, mediating 101 disputes, and assisting 140 individuals in need. Additionally, intensified police patrols led to the successful location of 11 missing elderly and children.

Changzhou remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors, fostering a welcoming environment for all.
