On May 30th, 2015, the 2015 National Cheerleading Championship was opened in Liyang Stadium, involving 1,566 participants of 53 teams from 30 cities.

The competition was co-organized by the Gymnastics Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, the University Sports Federation of China, the Middle School Sports Federation of China, and Liyang People’s Government.

As a national tournament, the championship has been held in Liyang for three consecutive years.
