Jintan salt mine approved as national pilot program of environment-friendly mines

On the morning of August 19th, the salt mine project of Jintan passed the examination and acceptance of national pilot program of environment-friendly mines by China Mining Association (CMA) with a high grade, and thus it has become one of the first batch of national pilot mining programs.

At present, there are more than 20 kinds of mineral resources in the area of Jintan, including 16 types of minerals with proven reserves. Most of them are non-metallic minerals such as rock salt, limestone, basalt, etc. Among them, the salt mine covers an area of 60.5 square kilometers with proven reserves of 16.3 billion tons. China Salt Jintan Co., Ltd. started the exploitation of salt mine resources in 1993. The company has been working strictly in accordance with the requirements of environmental protection, land reclamation, ecological reconstruction, safety in production, etc.

The establishment of national pilot mining program will play a positive role in  enhancing the idea of green development and comprehensive utilization of mineral resources.
