Declared open by Jiang Pengju, vice mayor of Changzhou, the second Public Fitness Sports Games of Tianning District kicked off on October 29th.  

This year鈥檚 sports games include badminton, football, billiards, canoe, Tai chi, and table tennis. Compared with last year, mind sports and water sports are added into it. The event draws about 20,000 people to take part.

At the opening ceremony, Shen Duo, a Changzhou athlete, who was a gold-medal winner of the 16th FINA World Championships, was invited as the promotion ambassador for public sports.

In recent years, the Tianning District government has built a number of sports venues and facilities for residents, including 30 small-to-medium-sized sports fields, 18 community sports parks, and 15 football pitches. Ten-minute fitness circles have been established to benefit all the residents.
