In the first half of 2020, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Changzhou was 29,656 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, according to the sample survey analysis released by Changzhou Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics on August 7.
Generally speaking, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the growth rate of per capita disposable income slowed down in the first half of this year. However, with the solid progress of the resumption of work and production in various industries, the employment situation has gradually improved. Small and micro enterprises and self-employed households have been overcoming their operational difficulties. Measures to protect people's livelihood continue to play an important role in restoring the vitality of economic and social development.
Among the three categories of disposable income, the per capita wages and salary of Changzhou’s urban residents was 18,674 yuan in the first half of the year, an increase of 1.1%, accounting for 63.0% of per capita disposable income, driving a 0.7% growth in residents’ income. With the economic policy that continues to focus on “six stabilities” (stable employment, finance, trade, foreign investment, investment, and expectations) and “six guarantees” (ensuring employment, basic livelihood, market entities, food and energy safety, stable supply chains and grassroots operations) , as of the end of May, 49,700 new jobs were created in urban areas, while 28,600 unemployed people found jobs.
In the first half of the year, Changzhou's per capita net operating income (NOI) was 3,795 yuan, up 2.8 percentage points from the first quarter. The rapid recovery of NOI is mainly due to the improved guarantee loan policy and financing services for entrepreneurial ventures and projects.
