On October 31, Party Secretary Wang Quan met with the delegation headed by Elmar Degenhart, CEO of Continental AG, and Wu Xiandong, deputy general manager of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Vice Mayor Liang Yibo was present at the meeting.
Continental AG, commonly known as Continental, is a leading German automotive manufacturing company specializing in tires,brake systems, interior electronics, automotive safety, powertrain and chassis components, tachographs, and other parts for the automotive and transportation industries. At present, it has established a joint venture with AVIC Lithium Power Co., Ltd. and established Continental Kaibo Power System (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. in Jintan District.
Wang Quan said that Changzhou has a good manufacturing base. In the process of high quality development, the city attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Fortune 500 companies, learning their advanced technologies and promoting the development of advanced manufacturing through innovation. The cooperation between Continental and AVIC Lithium in Jintan has driven the rapid development of Changzhou’s lithium battery industry chain. It is hoped that the Continental and AVIC will continue to deepen cooperation with Jintan and promote mutual benefit and win-win results.
Degenhart said that China has a huge market advantage and Continental will continue to increase its investment in China. They have had a very good start with the cooperation in Jintan. This time, they are full of confidence in promoting the tripartite cooperation.
Wu Xiandong said that the Continental is leading the technology of NEV batteries, and the prospects for cooperation among the three parties are broad and will surely achieve a win-win situation.
