December 5, 2013 was the 28th "International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development", referred to as International Volunteer Day (IVD). It was learned on December 4 that currently Changzhou has over 2,000 different volunteer service organizations, with 30,000 newly registered volunteers, involving a total of 340,000 registered volunteers, accounting for 11.5% of the urban population of the city.

Next year, Changzhou will further improve the Longcheng Volunteer Registration & Management System, promote the progress of Longcheng Volunteer Service Base and volunteer service stations in communities and  public places, and continue to improve and extend the functions of Changzhou Virtue Foundation and Longcheng Public Insurance Plan for Volunteer Services.
