On September 4, BYD officially launched its Seal model in Europe with two versions priced at 50,990 euros and 44,900 euros, respectively.
BYD's facility in the Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND) is the sole national production base for the all-electric Seal. From January to August this year, the Changzhou facility has rolled out over 180,000 new energy vehicles, with the Seal accounting for approximately 30% of this production. The annual production capacity is expected to reach 300,000 vehicles, with an annual output value exceeding 50 billion yuan.
The Changzhou facility is BYD's fourth passenger car factory in China and is one of the fastest-growing industrial enterprises. In February of this year, BYD's second-phase project, with an investment of approximately 10 billion yuan, laid the foundation for the BYD New Energy Vehicles and Core Components Industrial Park. Upon completion, it will produce 300,000 sets of intelligent powertrains, transmission systems, and other core components annually.
It is reported that in the past year, BYD's new energy passenger cars have entered 15 European countries, establishing more than 140 stores in countries like the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
Notably, from January to July this year, 374 major new energy-related companies in CND achieved a total output value of 103.09 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%, making it a vital growth point in industrial development.
