Recently, the new-built London metro line, Crossrail, was inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II and therefore officially renamed as the Elizabeth Line. This line is jointly designed by Changzhou’s KTK Group and Bombardier (UK), which highlights to the world KTK’s industrial design competence.

The Elizabeth line is the first project for Bombardier (UK)’s newly-developed Aventra platform. In September, 2014, KTK sent two engineers to UK for the joint design of the project, and the design was completed at the end of the same year. KTK is to provide a comprehensive interior decoration solution to all the 585 trains that will be running on the line. And the group has started relevant production since June, 2015. The project is expected to last until the beginning of 2019. Furthermore, the new line that runs across London is expected to become operational in December, 2018, and will carry over 500,000 passengers on a daily basis. Besides, the second project of the Aventra platform, Lotrain, has also started. And KTK has already sent another two engineers for the joint design of the 180 trains for the second project.  

Bombartder (UK) chooses KTK among a number of outstanding suppliers because of KTK’s fantastic performances, integrity and credibility. Besides, KTK is one of a few suppliers that can provide a comprehensive interior decoration solution. And this is in line with Bombardier’s business strategy of collaborating with fewer suppliers so as to cut management costs. With a substantial improvement in recent years, KTK is able to deliver most of the Crossrail project’s orders in only half of a year. As of now, KTK’s top plates for the driver’s cab of the Crossrail trains have passed the first test, and around 85% of KTK’s deliveries have passed the first test as well.
