Statistics from Vehicle Purchase Tax Branch of Changzhou Tax Bureau show that Changzhou citizens bought 121,290 new cars in 2013, with a year-on-year growth of more than 6.7%. Over ￥1.7 billion of vehicle purchase tax was collected, with a year-on-year growth of 6.6% around.

Most people bought cars at the beginning and end of the year, as well as in September, October and November, which led to the prosperity of car market since January 1, 2013. Based on statistics, the staff of the tax bureau says:” People bought 13,684 cars and completed tax returns in January 2013, which was the largest number of the year. The number of tax collected totaled up to ￥190 million in January, record of last year.”

With high demand of cars released, the following February and March experienced the low season of the year. And the market did not recover until September. According to statistics, the number of new purchased cars was larger than year 2012 on a month-over-month basis since September 2013. “Especially, Changzhou people bought 11,281 new cars in September, rising more than 20% year-on-year.”
