May 12 marks International Nurses Day, a special day observed every year to commemorate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and celebrate the contributions that nurses make to society.

On the afternoon of May 12, Changzhou held a grand conference at the Modern Media Center to celebrate the 112th International Nurses Day and show appreciation for the contributions of the city's nurses towards people's health.

Chen Jinhu, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Hang Yong, secretary-general of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Chen Zhengchun, vice chairman of the Municipal People鈥檚 Congress, Xu Huaqin, vice mayor of Changzhou, and Zhang Chunfu ,vice chairman of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee, attended the conference and honored the exceptional nurses.  

According to the Changzhou Health Commission, as of the end of 2022, the total number of registered nurses in Changzhou had reached 19,198, with an approximate ratio of 3.6 registered nurses per 1,000 people.
