In Xueyan of Wujin District there was an abandoned opencast mining called Renzhuang. Starting from the year before, Panjia Township Government invested nearly 25 million yuan of funds in a 33-month treatment to the mine. Now the mine has been turned into a fertile farmland covered with green crops.

Last year alone, Changzhou carried out 72 of such mining waste remediation projects, with the annual investment of 106 million yuan, brining about 5769.6 mu of reclamation area and 5089.5 mu of arable land, which effectively alleviated the supply and demand imbalance of urban construction land.

On the afternoon of July 29, representatives of the Planning Division of the Ministry of Land and Resources made a field investigation in Wujin District, and inspected several reclamation projects such as the brickyard of Lihe Village of Xihu Sub-district. They highly recognized such initiatives of Changzhou.
