On April 1, Olivier Zehnder, consul general of Switzerland in Shanghai, headed a delegation to Changzhou. The delegation had a meeting with the representatives of the city’s Swiss-invested enterprises and was received by Hang Yong, deputy mayor of Changzhou.
Hang Yong said in his speech that Changzhou will consistently improve its government service, business environment and human resources support, hoping to attract more Swiss investors to the city. He stated that local government will wholeheartedly support the development of Sino-Swiss International Industrial Innovation Park (Changzhou), with the goal of building it into a demonstration zone for Swiss-invested companies in China.
Olivier Zehnder appreciated the city’s manufacturing strength and innovation-driven development. Most of the Swiss-invested enterprises in Changzhou are among the best in their fields, said Zehnder, adding that these companies have increased their R&D investment and achieved satisfactory results.
As of the end of 2020, Changzhou had a total of 34 Swiss-invested enterprises, while four Changzhou-based companies have invested in Switzerland.
