The Tianning Music Festival, as part of the Passion of Summer•Changzhou Tourism Festival 2014, was opened on August 22nd, lasting 5 days till the 26th. Every night between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., there are beer carnival, nostalgia concert, display of intangible cultural heritage and market of original designs in the square of Tianning Business Plaza.
At this event, in addition to the performance of old songs, there are close-up magic show, acrobatics, and a variety of beer and food. The organizers have set up a lot of interactive games such as beer drinking competition, with attractive awards like tablets.
There is display of traditional crafts like Changzhou combs, tiger-head shoes, dough modeling, etc. Local specialties such as sesame cake, soy ham, Jiaze duck head, and so on are also available. In the market of original designs, you can find clay works, hair accessories, creative stationery, handmade ceramics, hand-painted postcards, and so on produced by original crafters in the Yangtze River delta.
Randy, an American who has caught public attention recently for selling hamburgers in Wujin, brings his homemade burgers to the festival. Some popular stores in Changzhou are also participating in this festival.
