From October 23 to 24, Dr. Zósimo Roberto Morillo and Mr. Guillermo Mendoza, consul general and vice consul of the Consulate General of Peru in Shanghai, visited Changzhou for the Peru Film Week held in Changzhou University.
Liang Yibo, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, received the delegation on the noon of October 23. Liang said that in recent years, Changzhou and Peru have maintained close relations in economic and trade cooperation, especially for products in the areas of machinery, electronics and new materials. He hopes the two sides will continue to expand cooperation in economy, culture and sports.
Dr. Morillo said that through this visit, he has learned more about the city of Changzhou and will further promote the cooperation between Changzhou and Peru in more areas, as well as maintaining a good relationship between the two sides.
At the meeting, Dr. Morillo donated to Changzhou Library the works of Inca Garcilasodela Vega, a hugely important figure in capturing and recording the history of Peru.
During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates also visited Changzhou City Planning Hall and Qingguoxiang Historic District. They highly evaluated Changzhou’s economic development and urban landscape. Mr. Mendoza commented that Changzhou is one of the most beautiful cities he has been to in China.
