On Nov 14th, the 2023 Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, also known as the high-level forum on cross-strait new energy industries, took place in the Changzhou National High-Tech District. Nearly 200 participants, including experts, scholars and business people from both sides of the Strait met in Changzhou to explore the new paths for cooperation in new energy.
Changzhou is on the way to become a rising capital in the new energy industry, ranking third in terms of industrial agglomeration and first in investment intensity. This year, about 200 projects have settled into the city, with a total investment of 94.63 billion yuan. The output of new energy vehicles has exceeded one million units.
Taiwan-funded enterprises are an important contributor to Changzhou’s economy. At present, the city hosts over 300 companies from Taiwan, with an actual paid-in capital of 123 million USD from January to September. Changzhou has provided a strong foundation for cooperation with Taiwan companies, with over 30 local enterprises offering supporting services.
During the event, several Taiwan companies signed agreements with Changzhou counterparts, undertaking projects in new energy, PV panels or new materials sector.
